June 12, 2014 by Tristan Burnham - No Comments

Simplicity and fresh ingredients are the keys to a great tasting lemon lime soda, and it doesn’t get much simpler than this recipe. This is the perfect all-natural drink for those hot summer days, and as a complement to light, simple meals.

We invite you to give it a try, and customize it as you see fit.

1/2 quart water
1/4 tsp citric acid
2 cups organic sugar
3 fresh squeezed limes
2 fresh squeezed lemons

Ingredient Tip: Substitute organic honey for organic sugar.

Simmer all ingredients for 20 to 30 minutes. Remove from heat, strain out the pulp, and blend in sugar. Top off with cold water to make 1/2 quart of concentrated syrup.

Store in Refrigerator.

When you’re ready to make a drink, dilute the syrup at approximately 1 part syrup to 4 parts water, then carbonate.

NOTE:  When using any system other than our Portable Carbonator, carbonate water before adding syrup.
